Event covers

You can make any event a news event. Sometimes nothing is news.

1. Answer the questions: who what where when?

2. Answer the big question: why? Try to tie your event into the news cycle. What are people reading and talk about that makes your event relevant? Background is good. Too much background is distracting.

3. Get quotes! The best ones come from follow up questions.
Q: "Would you cut taxes ?"
A: "That's right."
Q: "What services would you cut and how would you trim the deficit?"
A: ...

4. Put in photos if you can.
